Deposits

Conversations about trip requests may be started in person, over email, or over the phone but your date is not reserved and trip is not officially booked until a deposit has been made over the phone with a credit card. The deposit amount is half the cost of your full trip price. The remaining balance will be charged to your credit card on the day of your trip.


Cancellations & Refunds

Our guides are professionals — this is their job and they depend upon it. When a trip is booked, they commit the day to you and give up other opportunities. With this in mind, we’ve implemented a cancellation/refund policy that we believe is fair and simple:

  • All clients making cancellations more than 30 days in advance of their guided date will receive a full refund of their deposit or credit towards a future date (their choice).

  • All clients making cancellations between 14 and 30 days in advance of their guided date will be given a full credit of their deposit towards a future guided date (must be used within 1 year).

  • All clients making cancellations between 48 hours and 14 days in advance of their guided date will forfeit their deposit.

  • No shows or cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance of their guided date will be charged the full guiding fee owed unless we can rebook the date with another client.

  • In the case where a trip is cancelled due to inclement weather (our decision), the day can be rescheduled or a refund issued (their choice).

  • In the case where a portion of the day is cancelled due to weather, the guiding fee will be reduced proportionally.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can we join with another group to save on the per person cost?
We primarily run all private trips with folks who are looking for an outdoor experience with their friends or families. That said, if there are other individuals who are interested in a similar adventure around the same time as your trip, we are happy to ask if they want to join forces to create a group outing and spread the cost. But each client has the opportunity to decline the offer.

Do I have to bring my own equipment?
Most technical equipment for our trips is included in the guided trip fee. That includes helmets, harness, ropes, mountaineering boots and crampons, etc. for climbing trips. You are expected to bring appropriate clothing layers for your adventure. If there are items from the packing list that you do not have, please let us know! We may have extra available for rental or for purchase from our gear shop.
