High Peaks Mountain Bike Center at Mount Van Hoevenberg (OSC) has over 20 years of helping riders become better. The Center offers excellent opportunities to ride some of the best trails in the Adirondacks. With well over 20K of world class single track trails and even more double track trails, we offer something for everyone. Rental bikes, lessons, repair center, slalom and trail courses with a friendly and professional staff. To hone your skills sign up for a Fun Not Fear Dirt Camp and become the rider you always wanted to be. Our downtown Lake Placid Store, High Peaks Cyclery, has a repair, rental and sales department. We are located mile from the famed Lussi Trail System. Park and Ride right from our parking lot.
With thousands of lakes, ponds and rivers to choose from, your Adirondack paddling experience can be unique every time. Our guided trips focus on the waters in and round Lake Placid, but we also can go to The St. Regis Canoe area, the Saranac Lakes or we can create a custom itinerary for your outing. Let us take you to an island on Middle Saranac Lake for lunch or for a cruise around Lake Placid.
We provide shuttle services, outfitting and trip planning for all types of water explorations. Our guide service can get you out on the water for half day, full day, overnight and multi-day outings. We also offer a two hour introductory course for beginners who want to develop basic skills to feel comfortable out on the open water.
INTRODUCTION TO ROCK CLIMBING
At High Peaks Mountain Adventures we enjoy sharing our passion with others. Our Introduction to Rock Climbing course is designed to inspire a love of climbing in a safe, beautiful, and comfortable environment which is perfect for kids and families. Our NY State licensed guides are experts in Adirondack rock and are schooled in the newest and safest methods available. If you are interested in rock climbing for the first time or are a beginner in need of some experience this course is for you!
How to put on and adjust a harness, helmet and shoes.
Properly tie basic knots.
Voice commands and safety practices at the cliff.
Basic footwork and climbing techniques.
How to descend after climbing on a top rope.
How to lower a climber on a top rope.

Top Rope Essentials
Top Rope Essentials is designed for the climber who has some experience on the rock or in the gym and wants to hone their skills, learn more, or just get out for a day on the rock. Great for individuals or groups with a similar level of experience.

Do an assisted Rappel on a fixed line.
Use your feet to climb better.

ADVANCED ROCK CLIMBING
Take your rock climbing to new heights with a multi-pitch climb! This course is for anyone with previous rock climbing experience interested in learning advanced moves and techniques on longer and steeper routes. The day will include following a leader on a multi-pitch climb and learning how to work with cams, nuts, and other protection.

We offer spin or fly fishing tours to our region's most coveted pristine waters: Rivers, ponds, lakes, and private waters. Canoe or motor boat trips are available upon request for an addtional surcharge.
